Principal's Reflection - 7 August

Welcome to the second Principal's Reflection for Term 3, 2026.

Community Fair

It is almost here! This time next week, our Community Fair will be only one day away. At its heart, the fair is about celebration and fun, but it is also about strengthening our culture and having the opportunity to showcase our School. While most of our students will primarily be looking forward to the rides, the fair is also a chance to take pride in all their hard work. Our Cultural groups, fresh off their Eisteddfod success, will be performing throughout the day, from our smallest performers in lower Primary to our Senior students. A number of exhibition sports will also be on display, including the very popular archery tag.

Also, after all the feedback from our community consultation, there was a clear choice for the new House uniform, so if you stop by the Enrolments Booth, you can have a sneak peek!

Rides, stalls, and food trucks will conclude at 4.00 pm so that the Back Oval can be set up for the fireworks display, but Cultural performances and the hotly contested past-versus-present students Netball and Oztag will continue. Food and drinks will also be available for purchase at the School BBQ in the lead-up to the all-important Rock Pop Mime performances. Rock Pop Mime is a unique St Luke’s experience that speaks to our School culture. It is quite hard to describe; you really need to be there to understand. While it is a Middle and Senior School event, I encourage our Primary families to join the audience if they can.

A full schedule of events can be viewed here. Ride tickets can be pre-purchased via the link below. Early bird pricing ends on Sunday. I look forward to seeing you at the Community Fair!

ParentConnect Session

A reminder that our next ParentConnect session will be held at 6.00 pm this coming Monday 10 August, in the Learning Hub. Parent and carer feedback and ideas are vital to the environment we can provide for students and to the ongoing success of St Luke’s. These sessions were created to provide an avenue for two-way, in-person communication. The two topics to be addressed are the use of recognisable images of students in publications and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Both are challenging, emerging issues and the School would very much like to incorporate parent thoughts and expectations into our approach. If you would like to participate, please RSVP below.
